Yes, we're in Oz. We arrived safely on Sunday morning to be met by a strong contingent of Hyslops and Armstrongs (Serena's parents and brother and sister's families). Sunday passed in a whirl of greetings and welcome, plus Aussie beer and champagne. Reality struck on Monday with the delivery of 307 (well - 306, they mislaid the piano until today) packages. We're surrounded by cardboard and packing paper. We're gradually getting through the backlog of unpacking but it's going to take a while! And there's a whole host of other things on the to do list - managed to get the energy accounts in our name today so we don't get cut off, and we have an interview at the school tomorrow. Hadn't got round to telling the banks about our move so had 4 credit cards in a row declined for a large purchase today - grrrr!
The weather has been good for our arrival. Up to about 33C today, but with rain, thunder and lightning this evening. House looks spacious when we momentarily clear boxes away! Natives are friendly. Only just got PC set up, so no pics or Skype yet. New mobile numbers from today - email us if you want to know them.
Having fun, but we're also still missing everyone loads. Cats still remember us - Milo has already spent one night on Caitlin's bed - but they don't seem to know whether our house or the neighbours (Serena's brother's family) is home yet.
Caitlin would like to say hello and give a great big hug to all her friends! xxxxxxx
